BLACK is not Black

After Lagaan, BLACK was the Hindi Movie that I saw fully. The theme of the movie is "Nothing is Impossible" gives BLACK a WHITE shade. The only two faces that I knew in that movie were Amitabh & Rani. Other than them I did not know anyone who worked for the movie. 70% of the movie is structured in English.

I could still remember the players name, Michelle McNally (Rani) and Debraj Sahai (Amitabh). Michelle is the daughter of an Anglo-Indian family who becomes deaf & blind when she is some months old. Black is her world. No sight, No sound & No words to speak. Debraj is a blind school teacher who drinks always and because of this he is decided to throw out of the shool. At that time, Michelle's parents want a home teacher to teach her at the age of 8 something. Amitabh is sent to Michelle's home as a teacher. Amitabh is very rash in teaching which makes Michelle's father send him out. But he stays there in the absence of her father and teaches her for 10 days without allowing even her mother to see. But even at the last day she never learns anything and Amitabh fed up with that and decided to go out. But at last that girl shows sign of learnings. So, Michelle's parents decide to keep him as a teacher.

Michelle being intelligent learns the communication and by touching signs & keeping hands in the mouth of the speaker she recognizes everything. She attends an interview in an university to join Bachelor degree course and passes the interview. Amitabh sits beside her during the course and with touching signs he conveys whatever is taught. Years rolling and every year in exams even after she knows the answer she cannot put in paper. After 4 attempts she passes the exam and finds Amitabh to tell him who at that time is in a stage of her childhood stage. But at the end of the movie he recognizes her and both saying "WHOA" meaning "WATER" holding the hands in rain.

Background score is excellent for this kind of movie. A good thing about this movie is there is no instance showing Michelle as handicapped earning viewer's tears :) . The little girl Ayesha Kapoor (debutante) plays better than Rani. She comes till the interval of the movie.

Diwali Releases

As usual I went to newly released movies after going home for Diwali. First movie was Athu Oru Kana Kaalam and the second was Maja. Let me tell my reviews.

Athu Oru Kana Kaalam:
Balu Mahendra, noted cinematographer and filmmaker, after his hibernation directed this movie. It is one of the dead slow movies like a mega serial. It is a love story of a middle class youth with a poor girl. Dhanush looks the same & Priya Mani looks so beautiful. Nothing to explain whatever you guess will be the movie.

Maja:
Shafi is the director of this movie. In a nutshell, the movie can be narrated as the story of a father and his sons who land up in a village and eventually help a family suffering at the hands of the local goon. The sequence of events, with shrewd screenplay and good narration, make the movie engrossing. Vikram, Pasupathy, Asin and many had played the movie. Pasupathy has shone well in this movie.

This time none of my friends were interested to see movies. Therefore, only two movies this time. But I & my friends bought so many DVDs of old movies to watch in Hyderabad. Daily we have been watching them.

Rainy Vacation

It was an adventurous trip to home for Diwali this time. Three days earlier to Diwali, it started rainining in TamilNadu and Andhrapradesh and did not stop till Diwali. All the trains were cancelled for these three days. But we did not cancel the ticket till the last moment. We were confident that the rain would stop and trains would run. But neither of them happened.

We booked Bus ticket till Thirupathy since only that we got that time. Here I want to mention something about the word "Luxury". Do not take a literal meaning of "Luxury" in Hyderabad, because the bus we booked was a "Luxury Bus" but even the local buses in Hyderabad will be better than that. What to do?? We started in that Luxury Bus at 10:00PM (1 hour late) while it was raining heavily.

The next day morning I got a call from Neelima. I though she had reached home since she had started to Vijayawada at 11:00PM the previous day. But she said she was still only some kms away from Hyderabad. We were in a good position than her. :) After reaching Thirupathi we got a direct bus to Pondicherry and that bus covered all the small villages between Thirupathi & Pondicherry. My friends after this travel told they would never travel by bus. We started from Hyderabad at 7:00PM and reached Pondicherry at 8:00PM the next day. This was my longest journey in bus.

This time we got quite a good number of days to stay home (8 days). Since it is my home, I was not bored :). I happened to meet all of my friends this time. We bought a new Washing for our home this time. Everything was normal at home. The day I started to hyderabad again it started raining and lasted for two days. This time TamilNadu has been hit strongly by rain.

Trip to Nagarjun Sagar Dam - Tallest Masonry Dam In The World

After our bikes arrived, one dark night (NO Power:)) we started discussing about the bike trip to our native for Diwali. And it transformed into a possible trip plan to SriSailam on one Saturday. Till friday night the trip was planned to SriSailam but was changed to Nagarjun Sagar Dam after knowing that the distance is more. Till Saturday morning I did not think that we will trip to NagarjunSagar Dam (Tallest Masonry Dam In The World).

Finally at 4:30 AM, everbody was awaken by the alarm and we started getting ready to the trip. We kicked our bikes at about 5:45 AM from home to Dam. We were trying hard to find the way to the dam since different people were giving different routes. Finally we got the exact route to the dam and settled for our breakfast.

After our breakfast, we had a steady progress with short breaks untill that accident. Our friend hit a jeep and fell down. Thank God, that the accident left only some scratches on him. But the bike was the most affected. But again Thank God, that the condition of the bike supported our trip and we continued the trip. We reached there at about 1:00 PM and had some snacks there. Then we started on the boat in the dam. Since it was very sunny, we did not enjoy more.

After the boat journey, we had our lunch at about 3:00 PM and started Home but with VK's suggestion to stay there and leave the next day. It started to dark. Since the crashed bike lost its light the pulsars had to give light to the bike. Since we were leaving breaks after longer travel, out seats started burning. At last we reached hyderabad at 7:30PM. But again, we lost the way to home. We roamed at the edge of the city for more than half an hour and finally we got the route to home.

Any how it was a nice adventurous trip. I had gone for 200 + 200 Kms in my bike in a stretch.

After a Long Long Time

It's been a long time since I posted a message. Loss of interest and not enough of time were the reasons. Will start the posting soon. There are lot more to say.
